I tried out the Xcel inifiniti 5/4 OS at the weekend and it is a great suit. No flushing to speak of, and it was extremely warm. Very happy so far.

I used my Xcel poly pro hooded rash vest at the weekend and I have to say its a great bit of kit. The extra neck flap thing works great.

More functional than a beaver tail?

my beaver tail is very functional. It comes dowm over your waist further than a jacket and its great on warm sunny days.

What's the extra neck flap bit?

its a neoprene skirt around the neck of the rash vest/hood, that sits over the collar of the suit thereby reducing flush.

SHITTY SHITTY FUCKING RIP CURL!!!!!

I got some 6mm hooded suit off rip curl last (probably) november as a replacement for one I had to send back twice and if Iv worn it 18 times its pushing it(I have a 5mm xcel I prefer)

Yesterday came out of the water to find the zip after breaking off completly.

I was far from a happy bunny longboardirl/star-wars-smiley-023.gif

Bring it back to Jason (Rip Curl rep) in Incide surf shop Cork.

Already been onto them this morning, I have no doubt it will be taken care of but my point is, only after a handful of uses she gave up the ghost.

that seems to be pretty common!!. I have one experience with rip curl and I wont be buying again.

Iv worn them for years but after the problems Iv had if the last year and a half I wont wear them again, you need to be able to rely on your gear to make it through a season without having to worry bout it, but credit where credits due, the lads in Incide are great to deal with and really helpful and do all they can to make sure its sorted asap

Beaner has just got a replacement mutant after the knees wearing out in no time.

My Ripcurl is already starting to split around the entry part, I can see that going back at the end of the season.

A small piece of the rubber tape on my excel has lifted from the back of the arms inside the suit, so that will go back for a repair as well, allthough its not really affecting the suit.

So is the general consensus that wetsuits are shit and we'll all just have to move somewhere they're not necessary?

Excel is still winning the battle as far as I am concerned.
