Actually I just checked on a measuring tape.... 110" = 9' 2.5" I rang up before and they told me it's 110" limit.

Is there any way of renting a car if your under 21? Maybe from some local company? And is camping an option?
both are very sketchy i reckon.
Balls... Time to come up with a plan b, and then use it.

regarding renting a car, was talking to a fella from Cornwall yesterday who stayed in Tagazoute last Feb and he sorted out some Fiat Unos on the street at a cafe with some locals, the locals got him to hang at the cafe while they went and picked up the cars at Agadir with no requirement of a credit card and just to drop the keys in the window at the airport when they are leaving, so I`d say there shouldn´t be hassle with sorting anything you like out there whether it be cars or accom or whatever
Also, apparently there is a big apartment complex at Tagazoute with the beach right in front and that is where most people looking for accommodation/ apartment on arrival stay and by the looks of it this is the surfstay place I thinks
Just in to digress a little- in Granada, Nicaragua at the moment after leaving Popoyo yesterday avo, my advise to anyone heading this direction is go to Nicaragua/ Popoyo and surf your nuts off as it is a really great wave with loads of other options too (beachies included), plenty of really cheap good accommodation and surf camps, we stayed in a hotel for 5 nights overlooking the break for $10 a night with an amazing view just as the swell hit, anyone looking for info on Nica regarding surf or land prices (everyone wants to by land there) just drop me an email- best season for 'swell of your life' is March to June

Thanks for that ultan k, and thanks again for the pics sponger
I know the advice is to not rent cars from the major companies over there but just as a matter of interest I had a look at prices over the weekend and had to laugh. Crazy is not the word, and for heaps of shit too.

Hiring cars over there is fine, I'll try and dig out contact details for the guy we used last time.. Check the roof racks are secure, we nearly lost 4 longboards on the first day.
Truck hammering towards us lifted the front of the boards and ripped the roof rack off the guttering, the rear rack bars just held..
We wrapped a long strap over the boards and inside the car after that..
Watch the speed limits, the police like to stop and fine tourists..
Don't bank on the garages outside the main areas actually having any petrol to sell! We had to drive from Tarazhoute 60 k up the road because friends had run out of petrel and the local garage was waiting for its weekly delivery..
Goto Immsouane, about 1 1/2 hours drive north of tarazhoute, its one of the best mal waves I've ever surfed.. CAn't find my pics but its a right hand sand point break, looonng noserides..
Have a good trip, lucky gits!

just back from a brilliant week there... stayed in Taghazoute, as detailed in a previous post... swell wasn't epic, but we got waves everyday in Tamri beach (annoying kids extort parking money from you, but keep a few coins handy and chat with them and they're grand really) and Immsouane once. we also surfed small Killers and Boilers once, but they weren't working well, it was just for the paddle out experience really... our apartment overlooked Hash Point (most do) but it was flat - pity, it would have been nice to get some lazy surf's in...
We took a day off to visit the desert near Taznit (sp?) south of agidir and had lunch and music with some traditional Berber villagers, that was well worthwhile too - i'll try dredge up the name of the tour
Was a beauitful sunny blue 25-30 degrees C all week (in fact Morocco hasn't had any rain this year - at all!) the fog rolled in some days but didn't last too long...
Taghazoute is a cool chilled out town, lovely rental apartments... we paid a bit more to book in advance (€630), if there's only a few of you, you'd get a good deal just by arriving and inquiring... one NZ guy we talked to got one for 4 for €300 just asking when they got there... We booked cars in advance as well - 2 for €280 each for the week... again you could do better, but we had cars from airport to airport so were happy out
both apartment and cars didn't require a deposit - although probably a bad idea, as a group of english lads broke things and left their apartment in sh*te, downstairs from us... they seemed like grand lads from talking to them from our balcony, but we weren't impressed when we heard that... disrespectful a**holes
no bars, but you can buy beer in the supermarkets in Agidir (Uniprix) at same prices as home... nice to have a beer to accompany the local "choclate" nice local restaurants, though mangy filthy cats in one ugh... you'd kick the little f*ckers away only you're wearing flipflops!
From what i saw, it was safe for women to travel, though maybe better in numbers with a surf camp... we spoke to people in Surf Maroc, they really enjoyed themselves, though i think the standard of accomadation is more luxurious in the rental apartments... they did get great meals apparently though, and were at Tamri everyday (boring perhaps, bit the only place working as i said)
mind your driving, the cops pulled us (my fault for a dodgy overtaking manouvre), they threatened to fine us 500 dirham (€50), then asked for the offical fine of 400 dirham when we asked for a ticket... the long and short of it was, i handed him 400, he closed the (unwritten on) book of tickets with 100 inside and handed me back 300, looked me in the eye and told me to "f*ck off" in arabic (or it might have been "have a nice day" but it didn't sound like it! ) so basically you don't need to bribe the fuzz, they bribe themselves! funny in retrospect, scary at the time... always travel with the car's documents and your licence in the car - have a bit of cash for them, always ask for an offical ticket (un billet s'il vous plait?) the cops are everywhere but i don't think they are totally corrupt, i just gave the the perfect excuse for a bit of extra cash...
don't and i repeat don't pick up a camera near the local women, even if it would make an amazing photo... they were crowding around our car as we bounced down to Boilers and we nearly got a rock through the windscreen for the attempt - be careful, she might have been bluffing but the look in her eye scared the bejesus out of me!
be prepared to really fall for the place, warts and all, get an addiction to tagines and mint tea, don't accept the first price offered ("no, no, no you're supposed to 'agle!") lots of great fruit (wash well!) and veg, and people very friendly!
what a great place - enjoy, inch allah!
