my mothers first day on the piste ever yesterday - fell in the arvo and broke her distal tibia - in a plaster from here toes to her hip!

my mother in law went last winter got off the bench after putting on skis was up for 4 metres and fell and broke her wrist!! still not sorted out after having 2nd lot of pins out a month ago!!

sorry about your ma sponge - hope it doesn't put her off for good. there were a good few injuries in our hotel - mainly knees this year.

have to say this trip turned out epic. every morning bar one we were greeted with fresh snow on the ground at resort level (between 5 and 30cm). it would still be snowing when we awoke and as we bitched about the lack of visibility and laughed at the amount of freshies over breakfast the skies would clear (all bar one morning). blue skies and powder all week. it was a dream trip.

here's a photo (for bis - on laisse chair looking up towards stades/grande motte) which shows about a 1/3 of the powder run we found. if you look to the middle of the photo (above piste and just to right of shadows from the rock on the left) - that's my first line of the day- it's about a kilometer from the lift/piste you can see.
