I am just getting sick of hearing about mindless gobshites who have no respect for life or others.

Apologies to bring this up, but the rant has been prompted by a vicious attack on a surfer in Lahinch on Sunday night. Details are still coming through.

He is a well known locally, an excellent and stylish surfer living near Lahinch. It is rare to meet as nice and decent a fella, who now is in hospital with a smashed ankle amongst other injuries. It appears that he was working in a local bar / nightclub and had to get two toe-rags removed. They then attacked him later that night after work.

Here's hoping Shirley makes a quick recovery

Hopefully the Guards will pull the finger out and do a bit of work! That, and the softcock judicial system is why these fuckwits behave the way they do. I reckon they should bring in humiliating public works, these fuckers dont care about cops or prison, so they should be be made to pay for their crimes in new, novel and humiliating fashion in public.

Lahinch has got rough at the weekends. The last time I was up there with the family it was full of scumbags racing up and down the prom and it was like a rave until about 5 in the morning. Will be avoiding it like the plague at weekends.

Sad state of affairs, there seem to be so many scumbags that have no respect or fear of authority any more. I always used to be one to let people know what I think of them if they piss me off, but nowadays you risk ending up in hospital or even worse. i was walking down Dame St one night when a girl bashed passed me, i said something to the effect of jesus and before i know it she had turned around, taken her stiletto off and with a crazed (probably coked up) look was asking me what did i say and did i have a problem...i stood there whimpering apologising profusely as the stiletto was about an inch from my eye..eventually she scarpered as a police car drove by which probably saved my sight..the whole time this was happening her boyfriend just stood there as if her threatening to take my eye out was about as normal as her asking me for directions....definitely agree with Carty on the posibility of everyone being coked out of it attacking people!!!
My flatmate works in a pub/club and is getting so sick of fights and trying to restrain crazed people that he is thinking of quitting after 10 years working in the industry!!

Very unfortunate but quite common nowadays. As previously mentioned i doubt the perparators will see much justice. However a civil action may hit them where it hurts, their pockets.

have not been too lahinch for a while, lovely town and people during the day but bad vibes at night. Pity it cant be just a really chilled out place where You can have a great surf and night out in the same weekend.

was in hossegor last summer, the police presence was Quite large. They did not take any messing either. Resources would not be there to do the same in lahinch and nearly every other town in the country.

i hope that person who was attacked has a speedy recovery

last time i was up there its was the father ted night so there was a great buzz in the pubs but as soon as u went down towards the nightclub we were getting eyed up left and right for a fight, waterford on a saturday is like is so sketcky u have to be carefull which way u look ncase a coked up skanger takes offence
