A quad is just a fin setup, just like a bonzer. You can have any shape on top. The overall ride is based on the whole package. It's a bit like putting new wheels and tires on your car. It may improve things, it may not everything has to work together. A lot of the examples pasted are basically quad FISH. Shortboards guns and longboards will also work quite happily as quads.
quad fins setups have been on big guns for years now

I meant to say, The front fin position on a thruster is the same as the front fin position on many quads. So you can turn a thruster into a quad with the addition of a 4 plugs and a new set of fins.
So if you already have thruster in the garage get a shaper to install a new set of plugs & get some fins. If you have a pair of FCS side bites youre already sorted. for the rear fins.

Ollie in surfsccene in lahinch is selling his quad longboard if any one is interested in one. nice looking job, but I am not too pushed by these boards, I will try to get my boards going as well as possible before I move on to next type of board

It was a few weeks back that he was trying to peddle the board, he reckons it was only surfed a couple of times
