Seen this in Tubes in Limerick and fell in love. I was told by two surf instructors in Morocco to get a smaller board as it will help my surfing in general blink.gif (feckin miracle needed more like it!) but didn't need any further encouragement. Had her out and she is easy to paddle and fast as shit off a chrome shovel. It will be a while before I will be able to do her justice. Very pleased with Tubes. 500 bones for board, bag, leash, side bites and wax. Centre fin was extra and would appreciate any ideas on what might work well.

i have the first one made for beau young for the movie hang, spoke with keith beddoe (bear shaper) about them and he showed me the first 7 test boards before the final shape.
try a load af fins in it they had up to a 12" fin in them and it will noseride with anything over 9 1/2"
enjoy!!!

is it the 6'4" one?
also take out the sidebites it will be heaps better

Beautiful board, well wear longboardirl/surfing.gif

I tried out a 6'4" surftech version last summer, but i couldn't comment on it as my ability on a short (or long) board is crap tongue.gif

I've been thinking about getting one of these (poly or surftech) or a fish or a nugget in a few months ifr i'm a good lad and can surf out back with the big boys biggrin.gif

It sounds like you got a great deal on it! I'd be very interested to know how it surfs-please keep us posted.

Pat

That’s only the second board really. Going to sell the 7'4". Face is blocked out for the sake of decency. By the way happy New Year. J.V. was telling me you were putting the Fireball through its paces over the Christmas.

Yep she is the 6'4". You have the origional!!! That's class. I read that Beau Young had it shaped to combine the boards used by Micheal Peterson and Wayne Lynch with Kneeboards used in the 70's !!! Whacky or what blink.gif ! I didn't realise that you could get sneaky nose rides from her? A 12inch fin sounds massive. I was looking at much smaller ones but will up the size now with that advice. Any particular shape do you think?

Its a shame that these pictures arent in the for sale section, there are so many things to make offers on biggrin.gif .

As for fins, a 9" greenough 4a might be good,m but it does depend on your weight.

I'm trying to decide which fin to purchase for my 7'7" gun, and what I have been doing is getting a picture of a fin I like, scaling it up to the correct size, printing it, cutting it out, and then seeing if it looks right by putting it in the finbox.

Sad but true. unsure.gif

The dimensions are 6'4"x21"x2 5/8". Not much of a rocker and most of the volume seems to be right under my chest which is probably why she is a nice paddler for such a short board (short for me that is!). Glass job seems fairly good too. Not as nice as the Fireball but close.

With regards to fins I like the look of the Fins Unlimited Performance 9.5" model for the Wombat and the Fins Unlimited Joel Tudor 10" Step model as an upgrade for the fireball. They are both on sale on the Fins Unlimited site and come to about 77 euros including shipping for both. Procrastinating on pressing the order button !!!!

Whats the shipping on that?, still might get the joel tudor Island fin.
