3mm is more than enough

wore a shortie a few times in December and managed OK!!

3mm summer suit is more than enough, lots of ppl in shorties and if you are not in for a long sess boardies are fine. The water temp was about the same as it was at christmas. All in all very comfortable.

I'll second this. I was alternating between shitting lava and brown fizz for half the week. Stick with bottled water all the time, even when brushing your teeth.

Always travel with immodium and laxatives, that way you have both ends covered! . I had forgotten about the water, first time I have gagged when brushing my teeth .

As for boots, the reefs are generally pretty smooth. The worst was the walk back up the point at immousane at high tide which involved a bit of a climb and a walk back through the village. Was hard going on the feet. (but still worth it).

I really enjoyed surfing without any boots.
