We had 2 good days, 3 average days and 2 wet windy blown out storm conditions. It rained so hard on the last day that everywhere flooded. The rivers (that hadn't flowed properly for 5 years) turned into the most disgusting sewers of shit and plastic bags and bottles! I have never seen the likes.
The best swell was 2.7m at 16 to 18 seconds period directly west and that translated into some amazing waves at anchors (first and second shot). Not sure how it was possible for a swell of that size to translate into a solid double overhead conditions but there you go. On that day the locals were surfing from the take off out at the point and getting off the wave just before the first set of apartments in Taghazout village. We headed north to Immosuanne for more manageable stuff!
At this point I must put in a plug for Surf-Maroc. Their surf camp was excellent. Great selection of surf-tech boards to choose from ( I had a Robert August 9'6" for the smaller days and a 9' McTavish Original for the other small days

), food was absolutely amazing but a bit more expensive than the town. Great vibe in the place with surfers of all abilities and from all over. Local guides (Imad and Nadir) were great craic and knew their stuff. Nadir is the king of Anchors and is supposedly always getting into scrapes out there with people he doesn’t recognise. It was a bit of an expensive way to surf in Morocco but for those that want to head to Morocco for a hassle free holiday I would highly recommend it.
Hope this was of some help to those thinking about heading out there.
