What kind of duvet covers were they?

navier-stokes- 12-10-2007
they wer kind of plasticy so the wife promptly through them in the closet so i could not tell you... though to be honest i think you were actually in the apt three up from us, where our friends were staying.

fozzie- 12-10-2007
jeez mpb they look like perfect waves....bit big for me though..anywhere nice and small???

mpb- 12-10-2007
There were plenty of nice and small waves, we just got a bit fussy, and turned our noses up at waves we would normally be all over. There is a real swell shadow south of anchor point, a number of beaches and points that only really break small. One problem I found was with rips, the general north to south swell direction meant that there was a rip at most breaks, the exception probably being anchor point.

Kinda torn about heading back, loved the place but the vibe at anchor point really pissed me off, that and about 50 other people out surfing the same wave laugh.gif

Class pics Mpb!
Looks like you scored. I've heard of a few people going there and being skunked.

Is Killers the place where you can get washed into the caves?

So where were most of the crowd from? Many local surfers?
Landscape a bit like the canaries?
That desolite landscape always spooks me out! Keep expecting to see Clint Eastwood and some Bandidos! longboardirl/bandit.gif

Yes, Killers is the one with the caves out front, its not as bad as it sounds. There are a good few local surfers who seem to pretty much control anchor point (and I dont blame them), add to that travelling, aussies, americans, french, portugese, spanish, english, welsh, germans, and you have a very competitive crowd. Generally all of the other spots were relaxed, and even at anchors there was an overall good vibe, a few mini arguments kicking off that ended with hands being shaken. Landscape is very similiar to the canaries.

savage surf trip by the looks of it. You must have been stoked of your nuts the whole trip

sponger- 12-12-2007
anchor @ 5-6ft yesterday was a bit of fun, very crowded, but the local spongers did appear for the first hour or so, 4-5ft this am and way less crowded.

Are you talking wave face heights?, based on my massive experience of just one week (!!), I just cant see the current forecast translating into DOH conditions, although more west in the swell definitely makes a difference.

Is killers breaking at all?.

I think the boys are having a much better run of surf than they started with longboardirl/smileslayer.gif .

sponger- 12-14-2007
Killers breaking all the time, Im not interested in the paddle, or the crowd.

Tuesday was well over head at Anchor, with the occasional DOH, but mainly about head and a bit, Wednes was head high, a little over on the sets.

Another head high session this morning at Mysteries, v crowded @ Killers, which looked a little bigger, so avoided it again _ v happy with the week here, could spell the end of the winter snoboarding holiday

Dont worry about the crowd at Killers, there are a load of take off spots, and on a sponge you will be able to take your pick. Paddle is a bitch though.

Glad your scoring some wvaes longboardirl/smileslayer.gif
