Planning trip up north over Easter. Heading to Sligo for Good Friday, then trip up to Malin Head / Portrush / Giants Causeway for Saturday and Satruday night, then back to Sligo for Sunday night.
Any recommendations on somewhere to stay for Saturday night? Looking for something nice / interseting enough, will be with Mrs J and non-surfing mate.

Dont go to Portrush if the East Strand is firing - you may want a divorce

you could get the ferry across to Rathlin island from Ballycastle, rent a house or stay in the guest house.
they do lovely puffin burgers over there too

well for mailn there is a hostel in mailin town, but if you feel a bit more generous with your funds it would probably worth looking into the hotels like mcgrory's, or the ballyliffin lodge for some great locations. near the surf too... mcgrorys usually will have some kind of live music on a saturday night too.
never really spent a night out on the causeway coast...no scratch that friend rented a house for a few weeks up there next to port ballintrae that was quite nice and have heard good things about some of the hotels in bushmills, be cautious of which pubs to go into there......but that said my favorite restaurant on the casueway is in bushmills...the distillers arms.
derry is good for some of the tourist sites, but food is a bit overpriced for what it is... pubs there can be good craic though.....
i would offer to show you around, but i am heading to kerry for easter......

Thanks for the replies, Mrs J has been researching and we seem to be veering towards McGrorys, then day trip over to the Causeway. Looking forward to getting a bit of surf up north, hope to see some polar bears and eskimos!

Unfortunately on shift over Easter or could have hooked up for a surf or two if you would have liked. McGorys is a good bet. Good pub and restaurant food, music in the bar and then Mac's Back Room for a night of dancing. They booked some really good acts so you could be in luck. Enjoy.
