I think I've heard of Boomerangs called Farrelys aswell.

Grand fin to use for getting up the nose as the tip hangs back into the wave but is a fin that leaves the board fairly manouverable aswell

i´ve got one of those maisch ' gurka' looking fin but the bit where you put in the screw cracked and fell off so now virtually useless unless i attach a handle to it and use as a knife

Most of the fins I use are Maisch, but I've never had any problems with cracking and I've done a fair bit of rock-hopping.

i´m not badmouthing the brand,i think something just fell on mine when it was not even in the board.

I've used them at Point in Jeffery's Bay a fair bit and I know a few longboarders over there who swear by them for nose riding. You've gotta get the fin size right for the board and your weight etc. cos it makes a big difference when it comes to turning.

wes,

when i used to windsurf, donkeys years ago, you used to be able to get a small metal widget called a skeg saver. it was a bit of metal channel that was designed so that when your fin snapped through the bit that screws in. you sanded down a small bit of the base of the fin, and scerew on this metal channel and hey presto usable fin.

you might still be able to get hold of them......
