had no bank account as was goign through divorce etc (makes sense to me)
So hiding your cash so as to not to provide for your ex wife and kids is ok?? I find that unacceptable and morally wrong.

I think you will find that he did provide for them, particularly the kids, with college funds etc set up. Anyway, without any of us knowing the exact details of his personal break up / divorce settlement deal, we should leave that alone.

Have you ever met a good doctor who enjoyed a drink or a ciggie? Of course Have you ever met a good garda who drove a mile over the speed limit? Of course Have you ever heard a good priest curse? Of course Do you reckon that Margaret Heffernan bought all her clothes / food in Dunnes? Of course not
Just because some does a job, advises others in best interests, does not mean they always live by their own advice in every respect. All a bank account would have given you would be a couple (at the most) percent interest, physical security aside.
