Cork man.

Been messing about in the water since I was a kid, thanks to my parents. Started out windsurfing, often with forum members "ultan k" before he jetted to Aus and "jamkell". I then migrated across to surfing in 1997 when I had the loan of a board. I've been lovin' it ever since but I guess it's been the last couple of years I've been religous about it! If there is surfing anywhere in Ireland at the weekends I'm on it. I try keep things interesting.

Surfed: Brazil, France, Spain, Portugal, Africa, USA and Ireland of course ...

I will surf (soon): Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Fiji, Tahiti, New Zealand and Australia smile.gif .

Currently working on my own web site for my past/future surf trips & photos, but you can check out my surf photos on www.corksurf.com under featured photographers!

I'm a Cork local but I surf the North West as much to be honest, Some nice reefs up there!! so I guess I like variety! When I surf cork I do it with forum members "jamkell" and "sponger".

Quiver: 6'2 Random shortBoard, 5'9 WB Retro Twinnie, 6'8 Dalberg, 7'4 Beachbeat Fatboy Flyer, 9'3 Glide Roundedtail longboard.

That's me wink.gif

Hi colirl. Some great shots there. You do a better job of promoting west cork than Bord Failte.

Cheers lads.

Wouldn't be any good without the good surfers on the waves, so thanks to those guys.

30.

1 young fella who’s six.

1 girlfriend who’s not six.

3 Spider boards (9' longboard, 8' mini-mal and 7'4" fatboy flyer).

1 Camper van (La Bamba).

Surfing just over 2 years now. (Disgusted its not 20!)

Chasing Waves all over the west and north west and loving every moment of it.

Spent my early 20s cycling around Argentina, Chile, Peru, Easter Island, Fiji, New Zealand and East Cost OZ. Figured there was something missing and now I know what it was! A feckin SURFBOARD! Aaarrrrgggghhhh!!! Live and Learn.

My brothers have been at it for 10 years plus and are crazy kamikaze types but from knee high to head high is where my comfort zone is at. I like to think of myself as sensible in my old age.

Still absolutely shite at it but surfing makes me very very happy.

Enjoy the surf-forum, surf-talking and surf-dreaming. Oh and surfing I suppose!

I'm a West Cork fella, living in Clare, working in Limerick. I know Krusty & Tsu from college. Got coaxed into the water by a kerry mate of mine 3 years ago.

I have no balance, fall over even when i'm lying in bed. Somehow once in a while, through freak forces of nature, the space time continuum and the alignment of the planets, it all comes together and i get the board pointed down the line, man it's just pure pleasure. The rest of the time you'll find me beating 7 shades of shite out of the water in disgust or the water beating 7 shades of shite outta me for being too ambitious.

I surf mainly in West Cork / Kerry / Clare. Been to France twice.

I'm "sponsored" by Bic, a 7'9 and a 7'6, but hey they stand up to 90mph+ on the roof rack. Have to say Tsu's mctavish looks like the way to go.

Thats about it!

29-year-old guy,

Cork born and bred, of a proud Douglas/Garrettstown/Skibbereen/Clonakilty lineage. Managed to wait till my mid-20's to start surfing, despite spending my childhood summers at Garylucas, Co. Cork, and having an uncle surfing for nearly a decade before I was born. I'm some langer...

Luckily, a few years back met a Clonakilty woman (married her a year and a half ago) and decided to try this surfing lark

No great allegiance to any board shape yet, I have a shortboard, a shortish-board and a 9ft epoxy.

Surfed around Cork, Clare, Sligo, Donegal and once in Florida (small waves, but mellow, and warm enough that I didn't need a wetsuit...lovely...)

a bit overdue as I'm a long time lurker..

33, a "blow-in" from across the water, surfing 10+ years but never lived coastal so it seems more like 10 weeks sometimes, 9'6" Stewart HydroHull for bigger days, 9'6" uber-fat log for smaller days, a 7' Nine Plus Magic Carpet for when i get fitter (yeah right) and a 6"10 single fin from the 70's i got as my first board for 30 quid (before retro was expensive!)
way more enthusiasm than talent, but love it none the less.

and just had a crackin weekends surf in the most unexpected of places!

Live in kildare and work in Dublin

Did a surfaris trip from Sydney to Byron Bay in 2003 on my year away. It was by far the best week of the year and I have been totally hooked ever since although not making too much progress. Got a 5mm wetsuit in December 2004 when I got back and I have been tring to get west as often as possible since. I have done a good part of Ireland but mostly surf in Sligo and have gone down to Morrocco twice. Mostly riding an 8ft Escape board that Gavin in Bundoran kindly fixed up for me.

I play Gaa for the local team aswell and thats whats holding back my Surfing (well thats the excuse I'm gonna use anyway)! wink.gif

Cool Forum much more chilled than some of the others longboardirl/yourock.gif
