Hi

Female 35

Married 3 kids

Living in West Cork but will be spending my Summer in Kerry in a caravan

Yet to figure out the surfing lark had lessons in Fuerte in Feb & started here about 3 weeks ago.

So far I spend my time falling on my arse looking at the board heading away from me. So my ambitions for the Summer is not to go completely off my head with 3 kids in caravan and once on the board to actually let go and stand up, staying standing might be pushing it !

SURFING 7YEAARS... Most of which i spent figuring out that you had to surf all the time to get the hang of it,glad to say i now think im getting it wired but this surfing thing is a dam big Mountain to climb so i have to make up for lost time.

First lesson i had was from a mate just back from oz,W.A. He hands me a Bong a 6'6" and said "get out there".not recommended wink.gif ... Didn't know any surfers for years, wasn't too many in the sunny south east

Bought my first board in Eds Shed in T-bay... tongue.gif mad Bastard tongue.gif

Best surfing moment..Nat Young riding past me at Angourie point...

Started on a short board which i really sucked at then i just had to get a long board and now i rule biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Going slowly back to short ones but i love taking out the log longboardirl/surfing.gif

Male 33, not married, no kids

Surfing to long to be this crap 7 years it think but it could be more.

First board was a chapter 7'6 pop out, then a sponge, gave that up because I saw the light or was it because of constant leg cramps and the slagging from my stand up mates, still have a sponge took it out a few weeks ago and had a ball, might get a knee board some day.

Grew up on the east cost a a mile from the sea in sunny happening Bettystown but live in Dublin for my sins.

What's in my quiver, 9 ft 1 green machine, also know as the marble slab because of the extra extra heavy glass job, a 9 ft SA performance log only been snapped once and a 7 ft flow egg that one day I'll be able to surf.

Flat day fun is snorkeling and messing around in the sea, been sailing once, must get into it properly, back and neck are f*cked from one to many mounting biking crash.

Surfed in Lanz, SW and NW Spain, Portugal, Kerry, Clare, Sligo, Donegal, Wicklow SE never Cork, or Northern Ireland.

Want to go to S.America and Indo so I'll be asking for info sometime soon.

Last Surf today, first in ages and on it's not the misses fault.

Work in electronic.

Mine's a spiced rum and coke

Surfed in France, Spain, Portugal, Canaries, Costa Rica and New Zealand.
In time honoured tradition of doing things arse backwards, I only started surfing when I moved to Dublin about 4 years ago.
Escaped from Dublin around last Christmas and currently reside in Gisborne, New Zealand.
Moved here with the primary intention of surfing quality waves as much as possible while I'm young, free and single and while still having a 'proper' job. So far so good although the lack of daylight down here at the moment is a pain in the hole.
Experimented with different kinds of boards over the last few years but just recently started longboarding.
My latest addition is a 6'4'' MR Quad which I hope to get better aquanted with this weekend.
Planning on staying here in NZ for the next year or so and then going to Oz for about 6 months before coming home to good oul Ireland for Christmas 2008.
Once home I plan to purchase a landrover at least 20 years old and to reinvent myself as a country gentleman, wearing crevats and tweed jackets, pipe smoking and clay pigeon shooting, huh.gif teaching the peasants how to surf longboardirl/carefulnow.GIF longboardirl/downwiththat.GIF

Name's Marcus. Yeah, real original nick on the forum, I know. It's the straight laced German in me. Coming up on 36. Hail from Limerick, same as most of the FROLiCS crew. Started windsurfing in about '97 at CastleG, but have always wanted to surf since I was a small child, about 4 or 5, when a I saw some guy at a beach, probably in Clare but I can't remember, on a board. I toddled down to the water's edge and asked him what he was doing, so he told me and let me take a spin on his board. That was it. Took a while, but I finally made it. Switched to surfing a little over 5 years ago. Still learning. Local break is the awesome Kilpeacon Point (Can't believe that DB didn't mention that). Only surfed Ireland. 2 delinquent dogs. Taken up Longboard skateboarding to relieve the anxiety caused by the current flat spell. Also into cars, bikes, sailing, music, tech.

This is beginning to sound like a lonely hearts website, but here goes.

Male 28, Kerry

I've always been around the sea, been sailing since before I could walk. I started surfing about 6 or 7 years ago but only started taking it seriously in the last 4. I learned to surf on a Chapter 7'6" popout. My preference is for smaller surf and I can currently be seen riding my log, retro fish or trusty ole thruster (soon to be upgraded). There's currently another board on the way but MPB will not allow me to discuss it on this forum tongue.gif

I'm riding a 9'4 triple stringer and a fish, but hopefully will have something to add to those boys soon.

Got my dad into surfing last year and he's down in france now for 3weeks lucky sod.

24 Male

Hail from NCW in West Limerick, went to College in UCG

Started surfing about 2 years ago. Bought a 7'9 Bic after a few lessons. 12 months later after some FROLiCS advice bought a 9'4 triple stinger, from a T-Bay local! Absolutely love it! Saving at the moment fot smth like a fish.

Normally surf, the Kerry & Clare breaks, & in Portugal when i can get out there. Relocating to Clonmel with the job next week, so it looks like I'll b checking out T-Bay for the summer.

Aim for the summer is to get my toes on the nose to see what all the fuss is about. But generally just love a tough paddle out, chilling in the line up, taking a nice drop and smoothly coasting the line.

Also play Rugby for Crescent

After developing a serious taste for Captain Morgans and JD recently. G'wan ya good thing!
