just a quick post to say had a great time down under – fantastic trip in a fantastic country, will definitely be back to do it properly (we were under severe enough time constraints, 2 & half weeks were just not enough to see everything & surf!)
i see the forum has been restructured somewhat, but since we only got to surf sunshine beach in noosa & briefly in byron, i don’t really have any relevant info to post in the travel section…

did get a chance to visit the mctavish factory in byron, fair play to nick there, he gave us a whistle-stop tour of the factory, and once we cleaned up the drool I left on the floor of the show-room, he loaned me a demo fireball for a few hours in return for a 6 pack of beer for the crew… sound guy! I wouldn’t be the most gifted surfer by any stretch, but had an amazing session on it, i can see what the mctavish afficanos (spelling?) here are so happy about! I didn’t buy one and even though the finances would have been way overstretched, i’m still half sorry i didn’t… thanks again for all the info, have it stored away for the return visit!

out of interest, what price were they off the rack in $Aus? longboardirl/hang loose.jpg

pretty sure the fireball's were priced between $1100 - $1300, i can't honestly remember the price of the eightballs, eggs or scooters, though there were plenty of those there too... there were larger logs too, noosa models i think, they were more expensive, remember looking at one at $1495.
