I am sure Herb will be along with his full report, but as an interim, I have got to say it is a fantastic piece of kit, having seen it up close over the weekend.

Rides nice too!

the riddler is a noseriding machine. the combination of the huge tail rocker the hips and the step work. the amount of tail that sticks out of the back of the wave when you noseride is unreal. It turns well also but its all about the nose.

I also tried Beaners 11'6 Skip Frye copy over the weekend and it is a super board!!. Thats my next buy. You can catch waves so easy its silly and the speed of it is incredible.

Rodent, i did very well with the exchange rate so it wasnt as expensive as you'd think. re tyler in Ireland 2005, Myself and MPB were his crews chauffers for 5 days!! Good times.

Amen to that. When it's in trim the Ghost of Riddler's past come up behind you and give you a gentle push in the back and before you know it you're on the nose wondering what the hell is that weight on the back stopping you from pearling.

And so the shroud of mystery around the '?' is solved. cool.gif

Well, that's my take on it anyway!

Sweet board Herbie...won't forget that spin for a long time longboardirl/smiley20.gif

Taken shortly after his 1st wave. Will send you on the vid of your 2nd wink.gif

Far from ideal conditions to try the board out, but it did feel extremely solid in the last half of the board, and I thought it turned well enough. The suction at the back of the board is incredible, as your paddling the back of the board gets pulled under if you dont get your paddling position right. Definitely a nose riding machine!.

Just a heads up if anyone has a bit of cash burning a hole in their pocket, loose-fit are doing 20% off all their stuff, including a Tyler Riddler. I can hear Wes's wallet being checked from here laugh.gif

Thats still €1,835.92 inc shipping to Ireland, more expensive than getting a custom craftsman riddler made for yourself and shipped from el segundo ph34r.gif

Same is true for most imported boards isnt it?. ph34r.gif

I think any extra you might be paying is for the service of someone to do the leg work for you, to insure the shipment, and to deal with anything that might come up.

I think you will also find that Herbie pretty much got a mates rate on his Riddler in the end (which you no doubt know).

Not necceseraly, to buy a board from a US company and get it shipped to your door is more or less the the same price to buy from an Irish supplier, its always more expensive to buy from the UK.
It will always be cheaper from the US if you can avoid VAT/duty/airport handling charges in Ireland, but if you cant then its the same price to order from the likes of Paudie or Glide as it is to order direct from Anderson or Bing or from a retailer like Icons.
A 9'6" Bing gold standard would cost me €1527 before packaging to bring in from the UK, I can buy the same board from Paudie for €1300 (dont quote me laugh.gif ) or order it from Icons for €1300

mpb- 05-14-2008
Yeah, your right again carty.

ShoppingCart- 05-14-2008
I just think its fair to point out that its uneccesary to buy from the UK because its cheaper to buy at home and you'll get the same service and leg work, so it isnt true for most imported boards.
Rant over wink.gif Jasus I need a surf ............... longboardirl/hippy.gif

mpb- 05-14-2008
and I just think that its fair to point out that there is 20% off the Riddler that Loose-fit have for sale, its still expensive, but it is 20% cheaper than what it was.

Is that Ok Carty?, or do you need to rant further?.
