Hey i know thers a few petrol heads here im just wondering would any of ye hav a clue as to wats wrong with an engine if u have to leave it run for like 5 mins before she will move without chugging along ended up in a ditch last night and now shes giving me trouble

make, model cc and a bit more info as to what happened?

petrol or diesel? serviced recently / regularly?

an engine needs three key things to run; air, fuel and spark. sounds like it is not getting smooth input of one? check fuel pump - might be a good place to check first

I agree but it could be anything like broken lambda sensor wires on the exhaust after going up on the ditch! That was my first thought but more info needed.

nah she was a bit slugish before the ditch detour but now she seems a little worse i think its the fuel pump myself cause when i hit bumps she kinda jolts sometimes its a 1998 corsa 1l

Could be anything including loose pipework for air intake
