current lineup is a bit underwhelming
Biscan- 03-27-2008
Were the tickets more expensive last year, or am i already starting to think that everything was cheaper in my day?
Not as enthusiastic about going compared to previous years. Think i'd prefer to keep annual leave days for another trip to morocco in autumn. Then again it is good craic. Im all over the shop. Someone tell me what to do.............

Agreed, any of the bands I wanted to see on spongers arent on the real line up, except for Henry Rollins and thats only spoken word not as if Black Flag are back together !

Buy a ticket just in case, you will have no problem getting rid of it if you choose not to go, that is what i am doing anyway. I really want to see My Bloody Valentine and That Petrol Emotion but dunno is it worth all the annual leave so im keeping the options open!!
Think tickets were €20 cheaper last year!!!

He played in Vicar St earlier this year but not with a band or anything... His shows these days are ah... a bit different... Its stand-up comedy...seriously! If only Black Flag were playing!

Haha, I heard his solo stuff was rubbish! I suppose when I think of it, thats coming from people who probably expected it was going to be hardcore punk.
navier-stokes- 03-27-2008
i find rolins band stuff fun.... was some ofthe first punk-ish stuff i ever seriously liked when i was 14..... though it was that spoken word albulm above that got me through a really bad business trip.... listening to him describe how much people did not want anything to do with black flag was kind of comforting when i was in some seriously hostile situations.

Biscan - Bodytonic havent announced yet, nor have Foggy Notions, or the BT tent, and I have it on good authority that Fish Go Deep have a nite in a tent (if you like that sort of thing). Im still buying my ticket (they are €20 more then last year, wish Id bought the early birds which were €200).
Saw Rollins do spoken word in Oz 2 years ago - excellent energy, and very funny!
I think theres alot better yet to be announced (including a good few of my original post)
