Oh yeah forgot to mention that no one surfs in CR when it rains which i thought was really odd cos it rains every day in CR at this time of year..usually doesnt start till about 4 though and tis bright and sunny till then!!!

Fozzie - where did you fly to and with who?. Did you arrange accommodation when you got there?

I flew to San Jose with Continental airlines. Dublin-New York-San Jose. Stayed beside the airport in a town called Alajuela and then got a mini bus to Nosara and another mini bus to Samara. Camped on a beach outside of town for a week or so (not recommended in rainy season) and then moved into town, stayed in a dive on the beach (El Ankela) wouldnt recommend there ( kept getting flooded) but would recommend tico adventure lodge (about $15 USD per night). Only places i arranged accomodation beforehand were the Rainforest and Volcano up North..accomodation in them places was about $7-$10 per night. I think if you go during rainy season there is no need to book accomodation, their high season the dry season is now until april or may...that is when accomodation can be tough to find..but the rainy season isnt actually that bad, get up 6am and it is bright and sunny until around 3, clouds come in then, around 4 it starts lashing, dark by 6 and rains throughout the night but is bright and sunny again in the morning!!
