Hi all, my girlfriend and I are heading to Costa Rica on Monday for a few weeks, will be heading to Santa Teresa for about 10 days or there abouts and then head further up the coast towards Nica. I am not sure on accommodation in Santa Teresa, have looked at a few places on the net. We are at the budget end of our trip so will not be spending anything above $45 US a night, max.
If possible, has anyone stayed there and found good accommodation at a reasonable price and does anyone have info on Nicaragua whether it be surf details or accommodation, we will have about a week in Nica and fly out of Managua.
Thanks for your help in advance

Santa teresa was the place that Luke from Cork was that was full of Israeli's and there was alot of aggro in the water..that is all i know about there. Also when in CR, you sghould check out the Volcano at la Fortuna, tis amazing to see all the Molten lava tumbling down the side of it... As regards nicaragua, i heard San Juan del Sur is good... (also no surf but supposed to be fab is Leon)... I'm so jealous!!!

Thanks Fozzie, IŽll make sure to bring some garlic for the Israelies and a big knuckle duster, there has been plenty of swell in the area so we might head up to Avellanas and Ollies too if we have time on the way and enough money, we have 3 weeks in total and fly out or Managua, I am really looking forward to some Pura Vida waves after all the travelling, will have to do a bit of research into Nica and will look into Leon, the usual way is word of mouth in the hostels if all else fails
There is an article on Nica in the current edition of Surf Europe. They say don't talk politics under any circumstances.
They mention a place called Salinas, north od San Juan and say the north of the country is virtually unexplored.
They say its like CR in the 80s
