Word of warning to those thinking of buying any camper in the future, all campers are now subject to strict emissions limits from the DoE - I was getting a camper for free off my uncle, its an early 90s Fiat Traffic, and it failed the emissions at the MOT, and appearantly alot of perfectly fine working vans are now failing this test - if buying, make sure it has a current MOT - one thats been got in the last 12 months, or preferably since last autumn, when these new standards came in - my Traffic is still elsewhere while my uncle looks for an engine

Rodent this is a campervan not a van as such, and there is a difference between both.

In terms fo DOE's it is true that campervans are exempt. As we carry our little bambino around in it, we do get it serviced twice a year by the Grove Motors in Netownmountkenney (they maintain the HSE wicklow ambulance fleet are ldv and iveco dealers). Evne though we may not need to do this within the law we still do out of safety for the future surfing generation.

if its registered as a camper and you pay camper tax its exempt

It's a diesel can who cares, if it's been well looked after then it could do 250 k mils

What I want to know is how come she hasn't been caught speeding in it the way she tore off on the M4

It is a great van and easily does over 70 MPH unlike the old Bray Party Bus.

Conor B, just to satisfy your curriosity as i know you are just itching to buy my van now you have some cash from selling you quiver it is under 80k from memory, which is very good for a diesel for all your car people out there.

You can take out camperl eases over 5/7or 10years with bank of scotland. This opens up the market a bit for some people. It did for me i got a much better one and the repayments are great on it.Just so as you know. Was in it this weekend and oh so warm. looking out at the frost all warm and then it hit me, i have to get in that water!!!!!!!!!
