Folks,

Any experience in regards to motoring around Northwest French coast in de surfwagon and knowledge gained that ye could past on would be appreciated.

Heading later on with two campers & 4 hopeless surf muppets and we're curious 'bout any campsites worth noting/looking into.

Generally we try to find a cosy wee spot along the coast to make basecamp but wondering about the extra crowds, population, security etc etc...

Tend to prefer the whole campsite fire, luau, music, beer, longboardirl/rastaman2.gif & howling at the moon etc etc so doubtfull about offical campsites facilitating or encouraging us in our revels.

Again, both all good advice and/or suggestions appreciated. longboardirl/smiley20.gif

Camping in France is tightly regulated and quite well enforced so make sure you only stay in camper designated resting areas otherwise you might find yourself with a pile of nasty fines (+the locals will literally wake you up and tell you to leave if you don't sad.gif ).

There are loads of campsites all around Brittany anyway so it shouldn't be a problem + they'll be mostly empty at this time of the year anyway, so i don't think you have to worry too much about noise level.

Be carefully with the campfire though, they're quite frowned upon now, especially after France suffered bad forest fires in past years due to camp fires. A mate of mine spend a couple of nights in the cell last year for starting one on the beach -local residents reported him to the police who turned up on the spot within 30 mins.
